This chinese alpine is without doubt the finest of the autumn flowering gentians. Large intense pure blue trumpets appear September-October.
 
Prefers a good deep acidic soil enriched with lime free compost or leaf mould if available. Best results are obtained when plenty of moisture is available especially when flowering commences. 

When clumps become well established plants can be readily divided either in early spring or after flowering in the autumn
